Newbold businessman arrested


A man fired a few shots in the air before his wife stowed the gun inside a Newbold business.

Around 1:33 a.m. June 9 two men had a verbal altercation on the 1500 block of Alter Street when a 42-year-old, Luc Vong, 45, of Norristown, allegedly fired numerous shots in the air with a semi-automatic pistol prior to his wife allegedly placing it inside Legacy Auto Repair, 1514 Alter St., Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said.

With a search warrant, South Detectives found two unloaded guns and two loaded magazines, ammunition, narcotics and $345,000 inside the business at 8 p.m., Tolliver said.

Vong was charged with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, possession of an instrument of crime, possession of marijuana and related offenses.
