Bank robber on the loose

The FBI and police are seeking a man who robbed a Bella Vista bank Monday afternoon.

An unknown man entered PNC Bank, 801 Christian St., at 1:14 p.m. and walked toward the counter where the deposit slips are located, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. He then approached a teller window and handed the teller a demand note that allegedly said he had a gun and wanted money. Although the teller did not see a gun, she handed him about $2,000 and a tracking device, which the suspect tossed in a trash can after exiting the bank. He fled in an unknown direction.

The offender was described as Asian, in his early 20s, 5-foot-5, thin, clean shaven, with black hair and wearing an Army jacket, tan cargo pants and bright orange sneakers.
