Man’s skull fractured in assault

A man was chased and stabbed near Mifflin Square Park Saturday night.

Three men pursued a 48-year-old along the 600 block of Ritner Street at 9:53 p.m. before beating and stabbing him, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The man, who was bleeding, escaped inside New China Chinese Food Take Out, 2354 S. Seventh St., where a fire rescue transported him to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. There, he was treated for stab wounds to his left arm and back, as well as a puncture wound to his head that caused his skull to fracture.
