Sentimental valuables missing


A Point Breeze church was burglarized of bronze ornaments.

After securing St. Simon Episcopal Church, 1401 S. 22nd St., 2:30 p.m. Aug.14, the churchwarden arrived at the place of worship at 6 a.m. Aug. 15 to discover the side door pried open and a variety of bronze collection plates, crosses and candleholders; a water meter; and an undetermined amount of cash missing, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said.

Police did not have any suspects at press time.
