Luxury Connect to be held at estate designed by noted African-American architect Paul Williams

Liongate, the Bel Air, California, estate formerly owned by country singer Kenny Rogers, is the location for Luxury Connect on Oct. 23.

The famous home was designed by African-American architect Paul Revere Williams, who designed the homes of a cast of Hollywood characters including Frank Sinatra, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, Lon Chaney and Charles Correll.

Williams designed more than 2,000 homes, many in the Los Angeles area, and was known as Hollywood’s architect.

According to Wikipedia, “Williams famously remarked upon the bitter irony of the fact that most of the homes he designed, and whose construction he oversaw, were on parcels whose deeds included segregation covenants barring blacks from purchasing them.”

The 24,00-square-foot hillside mansion Liongate has nine bedrooms and 14 bathrooms, including a ballroom, a saltwater pool, a 12-seat home theater, and a refrigerated wine room for your favorite rosé. With 2 acres of property, the estate also has a tennis court, gym with a sauna, and an outdoor glass elevator next to the pool.
