Authorities have charged a family member in the shooting death of his sibling.

In addressing what amounted to the fourth and final fatal shooting matter between Aug. 6 and 8, officers reported to the 2800 block of South Seventh Street at around 2:45 a.m., finding 28-year-old Craig Giangrante Jr. shot in the head in a second-floor bathroom. After medics pronounced him dead seven minutes later, authorities talked with the man’s brother and housemate, Carmen Giangrante, learning he had been playing with a firearm when it discharged. Officials charged the 26-year-old with third-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter, and possession of an instrument of crime. He posted his $50,000 bail and awaits an Aug. 24 preliminary hearing.
