Authorities are looking for leads in a shooting incident that occurred in Point Breeze.

Police responded to a person-with-a-gun call on the 1600 block of Latona Street at 11:24 p.m. Sept. 13, locating the complainant in a residence on the same block, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. They had him transported to Penn Presbyterian Hospital for gunshot wounds to the neck and left leg, with personnel at the facility listing him in stable condition.

The law enforcement agents learned the complainant and a friend had been stationed on 17th Street between Manton and Latona streets when at least one unknown figure began to shoot at them from behind. Realizing two bullets had hit him, he ran down the 1600 block of Latona Street, with someone allowing him entrance into a house to contact authorities. Because the shots came from behind, neither the complainant or his colleague, who went unscathed, could describe the perpetrator(s).
