Police responded to the 400 block of Reed Street at 12:18 p.m. Nov. 27 and learned the complainant had just recently arrived at Philadelphia International Airport. While at the location, he had observed an operator of a Gray Hyundai Elantra with red pinstripes on the side and approached him since his automobile bore a white taxi sign, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said.

The complainant asked to go to Fort Mifflin, but the driver ventured to an unknown back road, pulled out a black handgun, and barked “Give me everything you got.”

The passenger complied and parted with his backpack and suitcase. The offender drove the victim to the 500 block of Reed Street and told him to exit. During an interview with police at district headquarters, someone returned the stolen luggage, with the complainant telling authorities that only an undetermined amount of cash was missing.

He described the suspect as white, in his 20s, 6 foot and 220 pounds; having a heavy build and hand tattoos; and wearing a black baseball cap and a gray hoodie.
