In harm’s way

At 5:35 p.m. Feb. 2, officers responded to a report of an abduction on Eight and McKean streets, learning the complainant had left her Toyota Rav4 running outside a laundromat to fetch a toy from inside the location. She noticed an unknown black male entering the automobile and tried to stop him from departing, with the suspect striking her as he fled.

The complainant gave chase to Eighth Street and Snyder Avenue, banging on the window to alert him that her daughter was in the back seat. The suspect turned westbound on Snyder Avenue, with the complainant losing sight of her car. Soon after, a witness found the unharmed girl on Ninth and Emily streets.
