American Legion Ball

Biddy basketball

Murphy Recreation Center, 300 W. Shunk St., is forming a co-ed, 6–8 year old biddy basketball league. The league fee is $40 and includes T-shirts, trophies, and a pizza party. Call 215–685–1874 for more information.

Biddy hoops

The Edward O’Malley Athletic Association, 144 Moore St., is taking registrations for its co-ed, 3-to-8-years-old biddy basketball program. The cost is $30 for six games, instruction, a uniform, and a trophy, with action commencing Feb. 4. Contact John, 215–266–4195.

Bantamweight Christian Carto, a product of Rosati’s Gym, upped his record to 7–0 Friday, scoring a technical knockout over Sergio Najera at SugarHouse Casino.

EOM basketball

The Edward O’Malley Athletic Association, 144 Moore St., will hold registration for girls’ basketball 6:30 to 8 p.m. Feb. 15 and 16. The Junior League will consist of fifth through seventh grades, with action to occur on Wednesday nights. In action that ended after press time, the boys’ basketball team at Universal Audenried Charter High School, as the Class 4A’s second seed, hosted three seed George Washington in second-round playoff action.
