We could probably dedicate an entire issue to the best burger joints around South Philly — yes there are that many. Since we are talking about Best Foods of South Philly, we trimmed this beefy topic down to a digestible size, with P’unk Burger, 1823 E. Passyunk Ave., standing alone as the top choice. Marlo and Jason Dilks — the same husband-and-wife team behind the extremely popular SliCE — are excited about the news.

“We are especially honored because this was chosen by [SPR] readers/our customers and the community around us,” Marlo said. “Without the community support, we would not be where we are, and we are so grateful for them. This is a direct reflection of how great our customers are.”

The P’unk Burger team relies on the highest all natural organic ingredients — only humanely raised meats and non-GMO produce and products.

“Many of our ingredients are sourced locally and help support the great community of small business owners around us,” Marlo said.

Customers sometimes have a tough time deciding which burger to order. In terms of popularity, the namesake P’UNK Burger with beef, gouda cheese, onion rings, 1732 Meats black peppercorn bacon and P’UNK signature sauce consistently stands out above the rest. The juicy Philly burger and the big man — both of which are stuffed with cheese — are also super popular.
