Civilian struck by gunfire while gardening

On Monday, May 22 at approximately 7:45 p.m., the Philadelphia Police Department responded to the area of the 1900 block of Snyder Avenue for a report of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located the 57-year-old complainant, who reported that she had been gardening when she observed three male offenders shooting at each other. She was grazed in her left thigh and transported by medics to Presbyterian Hospital. The complainant is in stable condition. A detailed description of the suspects was not available at press time.

Missing her purse

The Philadelphia Police Department has a suspect in custody related to a weekend burglary on the 2100 block of Sorrento Court.
On Sunday, May 21 at 7:45 a.m. a 50-year-old female resident reportedly left her back door unlocked and went to a different area of the residence, leaving her purse on the kitchen table just inside the rear door. About an hour later, she received a phone call from her credit card company indicating unusual charges. At that time the she checked for her purse and realized it was no longer on the kitchen table.
After reviewing surveillance footage of the incident, police stopped the alleged offender at 9 a.m. on the 1900 block of Forrestal Street. Officers on the scene arrested Domenick Demuro, 29, without incident. He was charged with criminal mischief, burglary are related offenses.

Shots fired

On Friday, May 19 at approximately 3:08 p.m., the Philadelphia Police Department responded to the 2100 block of Sigel Street for a report of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers discovered ballistics evidence in front of the corner grocery store at 21st and Sigel streets.
Recovered surveillance showed a tall, heavy-set black male with a beard and wearing a white T-shirt walk into the store, followed into the store by another black male, with a thin build, shorts, wearing a white T-shirt and with a beard, removed a gun from his pocket. The second male then chased the first around the store and back outside. Once outside, the male with the gun fired numerous shots toward the east side of 21st Street and fled north toward Moore Street.
No injuries were reported and area hospitals were checked for shooting victims with negative results. Two parked vehicles were struck by gunfire during the incident.
