When talking about South Philadelphia’s rich history there is a who’s who of famous people who come up in the conversation. With this year marking the 70th anniversary of the South Philly Review, we will be highlighting the accomplishments of this famous crowd — many of whom appear on the numerous murals around the neighborhood.

The one of Larry Fine, (born Louis Feinberg) is located at Third and South streets, right down the street from where the actor grew up. He is of course a member of the famous Three Stooges comedy team that also included Moe and Curly. Back in the day, when the cameras weren’t rolling, the Stooges could be found roaming the Atlantic City boardwalk by Steel Pier.

The Decades Network will be broadcasting a special four-day tribute to the slapstick trio Monday, June 19 through Thursday, June 22 in honor of Moe Howard’s 120th birthday. Fine passed away in 1975 at the age of 72.

There is only one thing left to say … “Nyuk! Nyuk! Nyuk!”
