Remember When: Gone, but never forgotten

Remember the date March 21, 2004? It changed the South Philadelphia sports landscape forever. It was the date Veterans Stadium — the former home of the Phillies and Eagles — was imploded.

While both teams have since relocated to swanky state-of-the-art digs, Veterans Stadium was and forever will be a South Philadelphia landmark.

As the Phillies continue to struggle with finding their winning ways, sometimes looking back on past seasons provides the perfect cure to ease the pain from another losing season. It was the place where Mike Schmidt and Steve Carlton established their Hall- of-Fame careers. It was the place where Bob Boone and Tug McGraw celebrated the final out in Game Six of the 1980 World Series.

What is your best Veterans Stadium memory?
