Pedestrian stuck in crossfire
On Monday, July 10 at approximately 9:53 p.m., officers responded to the report of a shooting at a resident on the 2000 block of S. Garnett Street. Upon arrival to the residence, officers discovered a 45-year-old female victim suffering from a gunshot graze to her left leg. The victim was then transported to Presbyterian Hospital by police and treated for her injury.
The victim explained that as she and her fiancé were crossing the street in the intersection of 19th and McKean an unknown person began shooting at a passing vehicle. As the victim and her fiancé jumped for cover, the she discovered she had been shot in the leg. Based on the evidence, it appears the victim was not the intended target.

Mugged for money
On Wednesday, July 5 at approximately 11 p.m., a victim was walking on 18th Street toward Fitzwater Street when he was approached by two offenders. The victim reported a larger black male intentionally bumped into him, pulled a gun from his waistband and struck the victim in the mouth with it. This caused the victim, who believed he was “set up,” to lose two front teeth and break a third. The second offender, a black male with a thin build, then restrained the victim while the first removed $100 from the victim’s pant pocket. Both offenders then fled the scene and were last seen running northbound on 18th Street.

Shots fired at home
On Thursday, July 6 at approximately 4:13 a.m., an unknown person knocked on the door of a residency on the 2000 block of Mountain Street. After the occupant of the residency asked, “Who is it?” the suspect fired four or five shots at the home.
