One wounded by gunshots
On Sunday, July 30 at approximately 11 a.m., a 21-year-old black male reported he was standing on the corner of 2500 McKean Street when he heard gunshots. He then realized he had been shot in the left shoulder by an unknown offender, whom he did not see. Upon realizing his injury, the complainant drove himself to Presbyterian Hospital for treatment. The investigation continues.

Wawa employees robbed at gunpoint
On Sunday, July 30 at approximately 12:05 p.m., Wawa employees reported that while working at the store located at 1602 S. Christopher Columbus Boulevard, a 5’11” black male in his mid-20s, with a thin build and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with black lettering, black cargo pants and black sneakers, came into the office, pointed a black handgun at a 32-year-old Hispanic female employee and then demanded cash. After the offender took the money, he ordered the employees to lie on the floor before leaving the store. The offender was last seen running westbound on Tasker Street.

Three men steal woman’s car, belongings
On Friday, July 28 at 5:08 a.m., a 25-year-old black female reported that while she was at 2500 Snyder Ave., three black males who appeared to be in their mid-20s, and whom she had met earlier at an afterhours club, took her vehicle, phone, purse and $350. She reported the male offenders told her they were bringing her to South Philly to continue to party. The complainant stated that when the offenders’ exited their vehicle, they pushed her down, took her belongings and then entered her vehicle, a silver 2014 Honda Pilot.
The complainant reported that she jumped into the back seat to stop the offenders from taking her vehicle but they threw her out of the car. The complainant was transported to Presbyterian Hospital by a medic unit for treatment of her injuries, including abrasions to her body and a complaint of back pain. Her vehicle was recovered on Sunday, July 30 at 5:30 a.m. in the area of 5500 West Thompson Street. An investigation is ongoing.

Vehicular arson damages neighboring property
On Thursday, July 27 at approximately 12:18 a.m., police officers responded to a radio call reporting a vehicle fire on the 2300 block of Franklin Street. The Philadelphia Fire Department responded, extinguished the fire and a fire marshal declared the incident as arson. Police officers reviewed video surveillance in the area which depicted an unknown person approaching the vehicle, a 2005 Nissan Quest, and reaching into the vehicle. Seconds later, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames.
Additionally, the windows and door of a home located on the 2300 block of South Franklin Street were also damaged by the fire, but no injuries were reported. The unknown person was last seen fleeing the area headed toward Moyamensing Avenue.
