Cheese shop break-in and robbery
On Tuesday, Aug. 29 at approximately 7:20 a.m., police officers responded to Mancuso Cheese, 1902 E. Passyunk Ave., for a report of a commercial burglary. The complainant reported he closed his business the night before at 7 p.m., and when he returned at 6:30 a.m. that morning, he observed his front door wide open and both door locks ripped out of the wood. The complainant reported cash was missing from his cash register. An investigation continues.

Commercial burglary
On Saturday, Aug. 26 at approximately 12:27 a.m., police officers responded to a radio call for a commercial burglary at Mastery Charter School, 927 Johnston St. Upon arrival, officers met with the witness, who stated he observed an unknown 5-feet 9 inch to 6-feet white male, age 22 to 25 and wearing a white NFL T-shirt, drop a red power washer on the ground before fleeing the area on his bike. The offender was last seen heading eastbound on Johnston Street.
Upon further investigation, police conducted a walk-through of the school and observed an object had been placed on the door to prevent the door from locking. An investigation continues.

Bank robbery arrest
On Friday, Aug. 25 at approximately 11:44 a.m., police officers responded to a robbery in progress at TD Bank, located at 2653 S. 5th St. The bank teller reported the suspect, Robert Kinsella, a 31-year-old white male of the 2000 block of S. 3rd St., walked into the bank at approximately 11:30 a.m. and allegedly handed her a demand note. The alleged offender then fled after being handed cash, and was last seen heading westbound on Oregon Avenue toward 6th Street. Police stopped him and he was arrested after being positively identified. Kinsella has been charged with theft and related offenses.
Dunkin Donuts Robbery
On Wednesday, August 16 at 11:30 p.m., a suspect, described as a 28 to 35-year-old black male, was captured on surveillance video entering the Dunkin Donuts located at 1551 Washington Avenue. Once inside, the suspect, who was clean shaven with a tall, muscular build, approached the store counter and demanded the money. When the employee refused, the suspect motioned as if he had a weapon and demanded the money again. After refusing the suspect’s demands a second time, the suspect grabbed the employee and forced him to open the register. After taking an unknown amount of money from the cash register, the suspect, who was wearing a silver necklace, blue shirt, dark colored pants and possibly operating a white vehicle, fled and was last seen headed eastbound on Washington Avenue.
