A high school counselor from a South Philly High School has been arrested and charged in reference to an 2017 encounter with a student

On Oct. 20, an 18-year-old male complainant reported to Special Victims Unit Investigators that when he was 17 years old (in 2017), and enrolled at the High School for Creative and Performing Arts, 901 S. Broad St., he engaged in sexual encounters with his school counselor, according to the Philadelphia Police Department’s office of Public Affairs. The complainant states that sometime in February, he went to the counselor’s home located on the 1200 block of Callowhill Street), where he began to share some personal information, and they engaged in sexual acts. The complainant states he had approximately six sexual encounters with the subject while he was a student in high school and that all of the sexual encounters took place at the counselor’s residence. However, sometime in February or April, he went into the counselor’s office, and while inside of the office, the male allegedly touched the complainant’s private area with his hand, according to police, who said the complainant also provided the investigators with copies of inappropriate sexual messages and photo images that the male sent him on his cell phone.
On Nov. 21, an arrest warrant was served inside of 1200 Callowhill Street residence and the male/counselor, identified as 50-year-old Bryan Sieber, was arrested and transported to the Special Victims Unit where he was processed and charged with institutional sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of a minor and related offenses.
Suspects wanted for multiple robberies and assaults
On Nov. 18, at approximately 7:38 pm, a group of juveniles, both male and female, attacked and robbed several victims along the 18th Street corridor spanning from Chestnut Street to South Street. As of this time, detectives are actively investigating two assaults, one aggravated assault and five robberies. Injuries consist of a large laceration to the back of the head, a broken nose and bruises. Preliminary information reveals that the crowd originated on the 1700 block of Walnut Street. Two juveniles, a 14-year-old female and a 15- year-old female, were arrested for the assault of two SEPTA police officers.
