Preston and Steve’s Camp Out for Hunger 2017 once again set up temporary residency at Xfinity Live!, 1100 Pattison Ave., from 6 a.m. Nov. 27 though 11 a.m. Dec. 1. Besides enjoying the entertainment, visited donated non-perishable food items for Philabundance, 3616 S. Galloway St. Santa Claus even stopped by for some air time.

The Philadelphia Phillies got into the holiday spirit on Saturday by holding their holiday sale and tree lighting event at Citizens Bank Park, 1 Citizens Bank Way. Manager Gabe Kapler along with players Rhys Hoskins and J.P. Crawford joined Phanta Claus for the festivities.

South Philly resident Christian Carto picked up a unanimous decision over Luis Fernando Saavedra on Dec. 1 at SugarHouse Casino. The bantamweight improved his ring record to 13–0 with 11 knockouts.

Students at Jason Douglas DanceAdelphia, 1100 Snyder Ave., are busy preparing for the Dec. 17 Holiday Spectacular taking place at Ss. Neumann-Goretti High School, 1736 S. 10th St.

The South Street Headhouse District is looking much brighter these days as a result of Sunday’s tree lighting and window wonderland celebration. Santa Claus even made an appearance, as he arrived aboard Engine 11.
