Italian Market hosting Eagles Super Bowl Pep Rally on Friday

Former Philadelphia Eagles David Akers, Bill Bergey and Irving Fryar will be on hand to sign autographs and take pictures

The piazza at 9th and Montrose streets in the heart of the Italian Market is going to be a hotbed for happy Philadelphia Eagles fans on Friday as Philadelphia’s passionate fan base is being rewarded with a pep rally. The Autograph sessions and photo-ops with the former players will begin at 12:15 p.m. and last until 2:15 p.m. The event will include free autographs and pictures with former Eagle greats David Akers, Bill Bergey and Irving Fryar.

Di Bruno Brothers, together with Cannuli’s and Esposito’s Meats and the South 9th Street Business Association are sponsoring the event. There’s talk that they might even put in a little work at Di Bruno’s, Esposito’s and Cannuli’s. The players will be in a tent at the 9th & Montrose lot with a photo booth. Eagles fans can also enter to win Italian Market prizes, gift certificates and Eagles merchandise. Proceeds from the raffle will be donated to The St. James School, whose students will be in attendance.

The Pep Rally is free to all that attend.

“We wanted to show our support of this great team that has captivated our city and do a little something special for the passionate fans of Philadelphia,” Bill Mignucci, president of DiBruno Bros., said.
