Signups for Sacks Playground basketball tournament clinic set for Monday

“The Final Four Basketball Tournament” will be run by the Community to Rebuild Sacks Playground.

On Monday, July 9 at 5 p.m., Community to Rebuild Sacks Playground will host a signup day for this summer’s youth basketball clinic called “The Final Four Basketball Tournament.”

“The Final Four Basketball Tournament,” 14-and-younger league, involves two teams from the South Philly area versus two teams from the Delaware area. The league will be directed by Jalil Myers and Mike Richmond.

Jalil is a student athlete at Rosemont College, pursuing his bachelor’s and master’s degree in business. He is the process managing his own movement and brand called G4G(Grind4Greatness).

Mike Richmond the former professional basketball player, a partner of his non-profit I Am Focused and now the coach of the Generals with the Harlem Globetrotters.

Jalil, along with a few volunteers are beginning the league Wednesday, July 11th at 6 p.m. at the playground.

The event will be every Monday and Wednesday with games starting at 6 p.m. This includes, reading books, Johns Water Ice, music and apparel for purchase.
