Fatal auto accident unfolds on Packer Ave

Police responded to a head-on collision that took the lives of three people.

Three people were killed in an early-morning automobile accident in South Philadelphia.

On Wednesday, Jan. 2, the Philadelphia Police Department responded to an auto accident on the 600 block of Packer Avenue around 1:45 a.m.

In the first vehicle, 29-year-old Keith Campbell of Bear, Delaware was found with 15 to 20 stab wounds to his chest and abdomen while driving a white 2014 Audi, which struck another vehicle, police say. Following the accident, he was transported to Jefferson University Hospital, where he is currently listed in critical condition.

The second vehicle, a 2015 Acura, had four occupants, including the driver, 36-year-old Joseph Ferry of Rosewood Street in South Philadelphia. He was pronounced dead at the scene by a medic unit at 1:45 a.m., according to police. Police say the other occupants included 31-year-old Dennis Palandro of Morton, Delaware County, who was also pronounced dead at the scene by a medic unit at 1:45 a.m.

According to police, 35-year-old Kelly Wiseley of Glenolden, Delaware County was also pronounced dead at the scene by a medic unit at 1:45 a.m. A 30-year-old female victim was transported to Jefferson University Hospital for a broken pelvis and other injuries suffered in the auto accident and is currently listed in critical condition.

Police say the investigation is active and ongoing with the Accident Investigation Division. Charges are pending.
