Wanted: Suspect for burglary in the 1st police district

Police need the public’s assistance identifying a suspect for burglary in the 1st police district.

On Tuesday, April 30, at approximately 7 a.m., an unknown white male was captured on surveillance video entering the Penrose Hotel located at 2033 Penrose Avenue.

Police say the suspect wandered around the hotel and entered a restricted office area where the suspect removed a purse, car keys and other items. The suspect then roamed around the parking lot where he located and stole the victim’s vehicle, according to police.

On Tuesday, April 30 at approximately 4 p.m., police say the suspect parked the victim’s vehicle at a Wawa located at 1920 West McDade Boulevard in Woodlyn, Pennsylvania. While inside of the Wawa, something startled the suspect. The suspect then left on foot, leaving the stolen car behind, according to police.

  • Suspect description: White male, 40 to 50 years-of-age, thin build with black and gray hair, wearing glasses, hooded jacket, dark colored pants and sneakers.
