Thursday, September 26

Aging Well Health Fair from 9 a.m. to noon at Marconi Older Adult Program, 15th and Porter streets. Resources, demonstrations, giveaways and more. Come learn about Marconi. Call Sally at 215-717-1969 for more information.

World of Animals Veterinary Hospital, 1317 Wolf St., will present Meowmania, a cat adoption event, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Adoptions through Street Tails Animal Rescue. 215-234-1616.

Saturday, September 28

The Millay Club Alumni Association of Southeast Catholic/Bishop Neumann/St. Maria Goretti/St. John Neumann/Saints John Neumann and Maria Goretti invites alums to the ninth annual all-classes reunion from 2 to 6 p.m. at Chickie’s & Pete’s, 1526 Packer Ave. Admission is $40 and includes buffet, commemorative T-shirt, DJ, dancing and cash bar at reduced prices. Selected beer is $1, select wine is $5 and well drinks are $4.

Tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance. No tickets will be sold at the door.

The event is self-parking and limited. There is a $10 cost for valet parking. Attendees must be at least 21 years of age to attend. Tangled Deed, Estate Planning and Property Rights Workshop at 11 a.m. at Fumo Family Library, 2437 S. Broad St. Meet with representatives from Philadelphia Corporation for Aging, the Philadelphia Department of Deeds and Records and Revenue Bureau and attorneys as they answer questions and help guide you regarding these issues. If you are or anticipate having problems with a deed, property or tenant/landlord, or have an estate issue, this is the place for you to get those questions answered and direction for your specific situation. 

“Spit Spreads Death” parade at 5 p.m. at Marconi Plaza. Created by Blast Theory, the parade will convene at Marconi Plaza to commemorate individuals who died from the 1918-1919 flu pandemic. The performance art spectacle is a component of the Mütter Museum’s upcoming “Spit Spreads Death” exhibition, which opens Oct. 17, exploring the “Spanish flu,” which is estimated to have killed 50 to 100 million people worldwide.

Are you curious about CBD? Join us for an informative program where you will learn about the ingredient.  Additionally, participants will hear the personal experiences of a woman who has suffered with chronic pain for 20 years, and how CBD has helped her.  This workshop is presented by Herbology Dispensary.

Philadelphia Wing Festival from 2 to 7 p.m. at 2300 Arena, 2300 S. Swanson St. The third annual festival will feature a variety of mouthwatering delectables from more than 20 of the area’s best restaurants and food trucks with more than 60 styles of wings to choose from. Wing masters from throughout the city and surrounding areas will on hand to cook up everything from barbecue to hot. To purchase tickets, visit www.facebook.com/PhillyWingFest. All tickets purchased for the Philadelphia Wing Festival by phone or online are final. They do not issue refunds or exchanges. This is a rain or shine indoor/outdoor event. Ticket prices are subject to change and increase. 

Antique and Vintage Flea Market and Second Saturday Sidewalk Sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at East Passyunk Avenue. East Passyunk Avenue welcomes back the Antique and Vintage Flea Market, Sidewalk Sale and Second Saturday. Shop from East Passyunk merchants and visiting flea market vendors, plus enjoy live music, food and other surprises. Phila Flea Markets returns with more than 50 vendors offering antiques, collectibles, vintage furniture, jewelry, clothing and accessories, glassware, pottery, artwork and more. This portion of the day is held along the Avenue and in the parking lot between Tasker and Morris. The Antique and Vintage Flea Market runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the sidewalk sale is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Halloween Story Time from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Fumo Family Library, 2437 S. Broad St. Join Fumo for a special Halloween Edition of Drag Queen Story Time hosted by Philly’s Drag Queen Brittany Lynn. Stories and arts and crafts will start at noon. Costumes are encouraged, and there will be a costume parade at the end of storytime. Don’t have a costume? Miss Brittany will be bringing Halloween costumes for purchase with proceeds to benefit the Fumo library. Nothing over $10.

Third Annual Ed McBride Block Party with a Purpose from 2 to 8 p.m. at 1825 E. Moyamensing Ave. The party returns to its core purpose of raising money in Ed’s name for the organization he dedicated so much of his life, EOM Athletic Association.

Inaugural Mummers 4 Miler 2019 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sponsored by the Fancy Brigade Association and the Philadelphia Mummers Museum. Visit runsignup.com/Race/Events/PA/Philadelphia/Mummers4Miler. The 4-mile event costs $50 plus a $3 sign-up fee. The 1-mile event costs $30 plus a $2.50 sign-up fee.

Valentini Productions presents “The Brooklyn Bridge” at 2 p.m. at Sheet Metal Union Hall, 1301 S. Christopher Columbus Blvd. The show starts at 3 p.m. Relive the magic with songs like “Sixteen Candles,” “The Worst That Can Happen to Me” and more.” For tickets and information, call (267) 938-3742. Wednesday, October 23

East Passyunk Witch CRAFT Beer Crawl at 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at 1904 East Passyunk Avenue. Enjoy seasonal craft beers at close to 20 bars and restaurants along East Passyunk Avenue. Online tickets are $6.66 and include $4 beer specials from Founders Brewing Company, a witch hat and a Witch Craft stamp card. Tickets purchased in-person at registration are $10. Earn stamps by purchasing a craft beer, food or other beverage at participating locations. Collect five or more stamps to be entered to win a gift certificate prize package worth more than $30  with runner-up prizes from local brewers and bars! Registration is at Garage at 1231 East Passyunk (9th & Wharton) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. After that, crawlers are free to hit the bars of their choice. St. Casimir Church’s Fall Bingo at 7 p.m. at EOM, 144 Moore St. Tickets cost $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Ticket prices include 10 rounds of bingo, wine, cheese, assorted dessert. Items available for purchase include extra packages, specials, daubers and raffles. Lap game prizes are $100 in cash. Coverall prizes are $500 in cash and a fall gift basket. East Passyunk Fall Fest and Spooky Saturday at 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1904 East Passyunk Avenue. East Passyunk invites you and your family for a double dose of spooktacular fun! Bring the whole family out for Fall Fest and Spooky Saturday. Family activities include costume contests (for children and dogs), pumpkin decorating, arts and crafts, storytime reading, live music, scarecrow scavenger hunt, trick or treating, pet treats and more. For the grown-ups, enjoy live music, more than 40 craft and arts vendors, fall fare, spirited cocktails, and more. Most activities will be held at the Singing Fountain (East Passyunk Avenue and Tasker Street), with select activities to be held at Mifflin Triangle (East Passyunk Avenue and Mifflin Street) and a scarecrow scavenger hunt all along the Avenue.
