Police looking for suspects in shooting death on 24th Street

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a group of suspects involved in the shooting death of a 24-year-old man that occurred on the 1200 block of S. 24th Street on July 3.

According to police, four suspects in a late model white Jeep Grand Cherokee drove up to the victim at approximately 7:19 p.m. as he was walking to a corner store in the area.

According to video surveillance, one of the suspects exited the rear passenger side door and approached the victim and shot him while the driver and front seat passenger also fired their handguns at the victim from the vehicle, police said.

The suspect who exited the car from the passenger side back seat is described as a black male, thin, short cropped hair, medium colored hooded sweatshirt with light colored writing across the chest, black pants, white over black athletic shoes. The male was wearing a black mask, covering the lower part of his face.

The front seat passenger is described as a black male, with a medium or stocky build, wearing light colored T-Shirt with the letter “P” on the chest. The male was wearing a light-colored medical type mask.

The driver is described as a black male, with a light colored T-Shirt and there is no description of the other passenger in the back seat.

The City of Philadelphia is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
