A new casino in South Philadelphia has expanded its family and is planning on cooking up quite a meal.

The Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia announced its first three restaurants to open inside the gaming and entertainment destination at 10th Street and Packer Avenue near the stadium complex in South Philly.

Cordish Gaming Group, which developed the casino, welcomed South Philly establishments Lorenzo and Sons Pizza and Termini Brothers Bakery, along with Chinatown landmark Sang Kee Noodle Bar and Kitchen as the first three restaurants to join the casino, which is set to open early next year.

“When we made a commitment to open a new property in Philadelphia, our goals were to become an active member of this community, to be a good neighbor and to uplift the businesses in this community,” said Joe Billhimer, Executive Vice President of Cordish Gaming Group. “The opportunity to partner with these Philadelphia institutions at a dynamic location like the Stadium Entertainment District was an opportunity we could not pass up. We are proud that our family-owned business can partner with these three iconic family-owned businesses that have served Philadelphians for generations.”

Lorenzo and Sons Pizza, which served its first slice on South Street 50 years ago, expanded to locations at Xfinity Live! and West Chester, before agreeing to open shop in the new casino. Voted one of the 101 best pizzas in America by The Daily Meal, Lorenzo and Sons will feature its famous recipe and a selection of personal gourmet pizzas.

“We’ve had tremendous success partnering with The Cordish Companies in the past, so we were delighted to have this opportunity to expand our footprint at their newest project in the Stadium Entertainment District,” said Giuseppe Pulizzi, of Lorenzo and Sons Pizza. “We are excited to serve our famous pies to many new guests next year.”

Termini Brothers Bakery on S. 8th Street has been baking for South Philadelphians for nearly 100 years. Established in 1921, the bakery will open its fifth location at Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia after expanding to the Packer Park Shopping Center and Reading Terminal  in 1985 and the Market and Shops at Comcast Center in 2005.

The bakery gained popularity in the 1920’s for its wedding cakes while its fruit cakes were highly sought in care packages by troops overseas during World War II. The business has remained in the family throughout the years. Customers at the casino can expect the finest cannolis, cookies and cakes with an authentic South Philly flavor.

“As a family run business for nearly a century, we know what a strong, well-run family business looks like, so we could not be more excited to partner with the Cordish family to bring Termini Brothers to Live! Philadelphia,” said Joseph Termini, from Termini Brothers. “We can’t wait to welcome guests to our new home in South Philly.”

Lorenzo and Sons and Termini Brothers will be joined by Sang Kee Noodle Bar & Kitchen during the first wave of tenants at the casino. The collaboration between the owners of SangKee Noodle Bar & Kitchen, Sang Kee Peking Duck House, and Strother Enterprises will be a traditional noodle bar featuring classic noodles and dim sum selections, along with Asian favorites like General Tso’s Chicken and Beef & Broccoli. Many more restaurants are expected to be announced in the coming months.

“We are thrilled to join Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia and the exciting dining scene they’ve created,” said Mike Chow, of Sang Kee Noodle Bar & Kitchen. “We look forward to bringing our signature taste of Asian cuisine to their guests.”

Live! Casino Philadelphia will feature more than 200 luxury hotel rooms, 2,200 slots and electronic table games, a sports book, and more than 150 live action table games, including poker, plus new dining and entertainment options. The property will also offer more than 15,000-square-feet of meeting space, as well as ample, secure parking. For more information about Live!
