East Passyunk hosts inaugural Harvest Celebration

A taste of fall has arrived on East Passyunk Avenue.

The East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District will host its first Harvest Celebration, kicking off 10 days of fall-inspired food, beverages and shopping in South Philadelphia from Oct. 16-25.

Known for its diverse and celebrated culinary and retail, the avenue will showcase its unique local businesses while people enjoy the crisp autumn air.

Seasonal dishes and drinks from award-winning restaurants are just part of the attractions that will be available to the public via indoor and outdoor dining as well as take-out.

“Even in this unusual climate, we still wanted to give people an opportunity to enjoy themselves, and celebrate all the rich flavors of the season,” said EPABID Executive Director Adam Leiter. “We encourage everyone to come down the Avenue for a safe and socially distanced experience of fall flavors, shopping and more.”

Foodies will be able to try fall-inspired flavors from neighborhood staples Bing Bing Dim Sum, Cantina Los Caballitos, Essen Bakery, Flannel, Noir and River Twice. Retail stores Amelie’s Bark Shop, A Novel Idea and A Star is Born will also be in the autumn spirit, offering deals on their unique goods.

Customers are encouraged to take photos of their Harvest Celebration and share them on Instagram using the hashtag #PassyunkHarvest. As a bonus, the East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District will give away $100 worth of gift cards to one randomly selected Instagram post during the 10-day celebration.
