State Representative Elizabeth Fiedler helped get dozens of turkeys and holiday meal boxes to local families in need before Thanksgiving.
On Nov. 24, with IBEW Local 98, Rep. Fiedler’s office made sure seniors and families at the South Philadelphia Older Adult Center and Stella Maris Church had bountiful dinner tables. Thanks to a donation of turkeys from Shoprite, Fiedler’s office also coordinated with Marcello of Giordano Garden Groceries, to get Thanksgiving food to neighbors in need at the East Passyunk Recreation Center’s Senior Group. The next day saw even more meals delivered as Fiedler partnered with Children’s Playhouse and the Share Food Program to get healthy food to more South Philly families.
“It is amazing to see all the good work that can be accomplished when members of our community come together,” said Fiedler. “Even as we celebrate the holidays in our individual households, the threads of generosity and compassion throughout our community hold us together. Thank you to all of our amazing partners and volunteers for their generosity and dedication.”
