Studio Incamminati will showcase the works of ten finalists for The Bennett Prize, which awards money solely to female painters.

The exhibition, called “Rising Voices”, will show 29 works from 10 artists vying for a $50,000 grand prize and a traveling solo exhibition. The exhibition at Studio Incamminati, which aims to showcase the emerging leaders among female figurative realist painters in America, will take place from March 24 through May 9 at the BOK Building at 1901 S. 9th St.

“Female pleasure, bodily knowing, gender performance, self-reflection: the works in this exhibition confront viewers with these and other concepts that take an exhilarating variety of

painted form,” said Matia Tomasula, Bennett Prize juror and the Michael P. Grace Professor of Arts at Notre Dame. “Even within the defined framework of figurative paintings by women, the show foregrounds the staggering range of attitudes and formal approaches taken by contemporary painters.”
