Philly spraygrounds open for summer

More than 90 spraygrounds and splash pads officially opened on Memorial Day Weekend, offering residents a chance to cool off at their favorite local parks.
The spraygrounds will be open seven days a week between Memorial Day Weekend and Labor Day, weather dependent. Residents should check their local playground or recreation center for the exact hours of operation as locations vary.
“The temperature is rising, and the return of spraygrounds is a sign that summer is almost here,” said Philadelphia Parks & Recreation Commissioner Kathryn Ott Lovell. “Spraygrounds are a great way to stay cool and have fun on those hot summer days. We are excited to welcome residents back to our spraygrounds over the Memorial Day Weekend.”
Spraygound locations in South Philly are located at Capitolo Playground at 900 Federal Street; DiSilvestro Playground at 1701 S. 15th Street; Herron Playground at 213 Reed Street; Lanier Park at 1600 S. 29th Street; Markward Playground at 400 S.
