Promoting early reading

A South Philadelphia neighborhood team composed of local artist Manuela Guillén and South Philly Reading Captains worked with Mural Arts Philadelphia and creative agency Mighty Engine to develop a South Philadelphia neighborhood billboard to promote early reading interactions with family.

The billboard, which is located at 9th Street and Washington Avenue, was one of four unveiled throughout the city.

All of the four billboards focus on five Reading Promises, including Make Reading Together Our Special Time; Talk It Up; Champion Your School Success; Create With You; and Protect Your Right To Read.
