Cake & Joe’s celebrates its 1st Anniversary on Dec. 17.

December 17

Cake & Joe’s 1st Anniversary – opening at 7 a.m., Cake and Joe’s at 1401 E. Moyamensing Ave. will offer $1 Matcha Light Cream Cake slices to the first 100 guests. The shop will also offer $1 cups of freshly brewed La Colombe coffee to all customers throughout the day.

December 19

Santa at Girard Park – From 5-7 p.m., Girard Estate-area residents with Friends of Stephen Girard Park present Santa in the Park at 21st and Porter streets. Traditional carriage rides, music and more.

December 20

Friends of Whitman Library’s Winter Party – from 3-5 p.m., at the Whitman Library at 200 Snyder Ave. Wintry crafts and activities to take home, seasonal treats and essential giveaways like mini hand sanitizers and gloves (while supplies last.) This event is for children, teens and their families and will take place outside in the library’s backyard. 

December 28

AmRev Presents: A Hessian Holiday Concert with Tempesta di Mare – From 6-7 p.m. at the Museum of the American Revolution, explore the surprising German influence on early American music. The concert will take place in-person in the Museum’s Liberty Hall and will be livestreamed for ticketed online audiences. Tickets are $20, $15 for Museum Members (proof of vaccination is required). Online-only admission is $15 for general admission or $10 for Members. Doors open at 5:15 p.m.

January 7 

Ticket to The Moon: The ELO Experience – at 9 p.m. at Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia, the ultimate tribute to Electric Light Orchestra that has captivated fans for years. Songs in this multimedia concert experience include hits like Mr. Blue Sky, Telephone Line, Living Thing and Don’t Bring Me Down; all performed to their original arrangements by a band that has entertained audiences worldwide. January 27

Dr. Danielle Allen on “Our Declaration,” – from 6-7 p.m.,  Political theorist and author Dr. Danielle Allen will join the American Revolution Museum at 101 S. 3rd St. to discuss her groundbreaking book Our Declaration: A Reading of the Declaration of Independence in Defense of Equality.

The hybrid event will take place in the Museum’s Liberty Hall and will be livestreamed for ticketed online viewers. Proof of vaccination required for the onsite event. Tickets begin at $30, online or by calling 215-253-6731. Includes a signed copy of the book. Proceeds from the event support the Museum’s educational programs.

January 28 

Best of the Eagles – at 9 p.m. at Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia, Best of the Eagles is one of the top Eagles tribute bands in the country, performing the band’s greatest hits from the ‘70s, ‘80s and beyond.
