Letter to the Editor: Debate voting bill

Last year, two days before Jan. 6, the day that 8 congressmen tried to throw out the Pennsylvania vote, Sen Toomey announced: “ … I intend to vigorously defend our form of government by opposing this effort to disenfranchise millions of voters in my state and others.”  That tremendous act of courage, he refused to decertify our votes for president despite great pressure from his Republican colleagues.

Now, states are doing what they can to restrict and create unnecessary obstacles in the way of voters. Here in Pennsylvania, eight of our Republican congressman are still looking for ways to overturn the election. And the Senate Republicans are refusing even to debate crucial legislation that would stop this.

Yet Sen. Toomey is even refusing a debate on the Freedom to Vote Act. Call Sen. Toomey and tell him to have a bipartisan debate on this precious issue.
