Meet James Forten – From 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Museum of the American Revolution, explore the life and legacy of James Forten, a free Black Philadelphian, Revolutionary War privateer and stalwart abolitionist in the performance “Meet James Forten.” The 20-minute live performance will be followed by a discussion with the audience. The event will take place in-person at the Museum and will be livestreamed for ticketed online audiences. Tickets are $10-$20 at https://www.amrevmuseum.org/.

Black History Storytelling – At 4 p.m., Whitman Library brings you a special treat in observance of Black History Month. Mama Carla Wiley will bring her storytelling program live to the Whitman Library Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/WhitmanLibrary.

Race in the United States: Connecting the Dots between 1776 and Today – From 1- 3:30 p.m. at the Museum of the American Revolution, in partnership with the Dennis Farm Charitable Land Trust, will present the fifth annual Lonae A. Moore Memorial Forum on racial understanding. This year’s theme will be “Race in the United States: Connecting the Dots between 1776 and today.” Open for free registration for virtual or onsite attendance.

Read the Revolution Speaker Series – From 6:30 – 8 p.m. at Museum of the American Revolution, Historian and author Dr. Kari J. Winter will discuss the memoir of Jeffrey Brace, an enslaved man who won his freedom through service during the Revolutionary War, before being joined by Brace descendant and family historian, Rhonda Brace.

Beginnings – The Ultimate Chicago Tribute Band – at 9 p.m., Beginnings is a tribute to America’s favorite “Rock and Roll Band with Horns,” Chicago. Spring Fever Train Show and Sale – From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Penns Landing Caterers, 1301 S. Columbus Blvd. Visit 140 tables with a variety of vintage toy trains and repair parts for sale, test track, operating toy train layouts, kids activities, and door prizes for adults and children.
