Phillies looking for ‘All-Star Teacher’ nominations

This upcoming season, the Phillies will be sending a big thank you to “All-Star” teachers.

The team is actively encouraging fans to nominate an educator who has made a positive impact in the classroom and/or the community. From the nominations, 10 will be selected as Phillies All-Star Teachers and will be recognized on-field during Teacher Appreciation Night on Friday, May 6, at Citizens Bank Park prior to the Phillies game against the New York Mets.

“Teachers are continually stepping up to the plate to make a difference in their students’ lives,” said Phillies Director of Community Initiatives Mary Ann Moyer in a press release. “With the help of our fans, we are excited to honor some of these amazing educators who have gone above and beyond in the classroom, as we fittingly recognize them as the all-stars they truly are.”

To nominate a past or current teacher, fans must submit an essay of no more than 500 words telling the team about their favorite teacher and why he or she should be selected. All nominations must be submitted to Phillies.com/community by Friday, March 18, at 4:59 p.m.

Questions can be sent to community@phillies.com.
