Pet of the Week: Are you able to adopt Kane?

Kane is an Alaskan Malamute/Husky mix. Typical of northern breeds, Kane is strong willed and stubborn. These dogs are very loving with their people. Kane is 6 years old and came to a shelter when his owner decided he did not want him any more. Kane is working very hard on crate training and house training and is learning very quickly. Northern breeds are very intelligent dogs and need to be given lots of exercise and mental stimulation.

Kane walks well on a leash and loads easily into a car.  He rides very well and enjoys sticking his goofy head out the window to catch all the good smells.

Kane does well with dogs who are not pushy and loves to be outside.

A fenced yard is required for this studly dude. Dog meets will be required prior to adoption. These are incredible dogs, but not for the average dog owner. Northern breed experience is preferred. Absolutely no cats or small animals for this guy. Northern breeds have very strong prey drives, so if your yard is full of squirrels, it won’t be after he gets there.
