Career Fair – From 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the South Philadelphia Library at 1700 S. Broad St. Outdoors. Rain Date is May 6 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

May 6

Dendê & Band: Afro-Brazilian Funk – at 8 p.m. Dendê & Band will perform a free concert at the Rotunda, 4014 Walnut St. Masks required. Space is limited.

May 7

ABBA Dance Party – From 7-10 p.m. at the American Swedish Historical Museum, celebrate the music of ABBA at the museum’s 2nd Annual ExtrABBAganza Dance Party. Dancing and costume contest and live performances by Summer St. Cartier, Cherry St. Cartier, Morgan Morgan Morgan and Amerie Jameson. Held outside on the Museum Terrace with limited capacity. ‘70s inspired attire is encouraged. Tickets are $35 for members and $45 for nonmembers and include Swedish-inspired appetizer stations. May 7-8

Mother’s Day Weekend at the Museum of the American Revolution –  from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on May 7 and 8 at the Museum and online, discover the diverse women who played vital, often unsung roles on the home front and with armies on campaign during the Revolutionary War and make your own Mother’s Day card inspired by the German art of paper-cutting. Tickets can be purchased at www.amrevmuseum.org, by calling 215.253.6731 or at the front desk. Purchase tickets online to save $2 per adult ticket. Children ages 5 and under are always free.

May 11

Happy Hour and crafting event – From 5-8 p.m. at Magic Gardens at 1020 South St. Beverages from Chaddsford Winery, Hochstadter’s Slow & Low Whiskey and Sly Fox Brewing Company are included with admission. Make Cork Creatures and Paper Puppets of Isaiah and Julia Zagar at crafts table followed by a “tile bingo” game, with a DJ from BridgeSet Sound. Proceeds benefit PMG’s education and outreach programs. Tickets are $25/Adults and $16/PMG Members.

May 13

Comedy show at Live! – at 7 p.m., comedians, Eric D’Alessandro and Vic DiBitetto will come together for the first time to launch their ‘Funny How?’ Tour at Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia. Tickets are $45, $55 and $65 and available for purchase at AXS.com. A second show has been added for 10 p.m.

May 14

SOSNA Triangles Plazapalooza – From noon to 5 p.m. at 23rd and South streets, live music, food trucks, beer and family-fun activities. Plazapalooza is the SOSNA Triangle’s annual fundraiser to keep the neighborhood’s favorite public space beautiful.

May 18

Dish it Up – From 6-9 p.m. at Lincoln Financial FIeld, Women Against Abuse Inc. will host the 14th annual event and women chefs will bring their culinary skills to compete for best dish of the night, selected by a panel of celebrity judges. This event is Philadelphia’s only women chef competition and attracts close to 500 business and community leaders and food aficionados. Former Philadelphia Eagle Troy Vincent and Tommi Vincent will be honored as the 2022 Advocates of the Year. Tickets start at $150 and are available at  www.womenagainstabuse.org/events/dish-it-up.

May 21

Friends of Whitman Library Spring Cleanup – from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., volunteer to help clean up and beautify Whitman’s yard. All gardening/cleanup supplies and bottled water will be provided by the Friends. Meet outside of the library. Rain date is May 22.

PEP Services BYOB Paint & Sip Fundraiser – from 1-3:30 p.m., at 1200 S. Broad St., Programs Employing People Services will host a BYOB Paint & Sip Fundraiser. All paint supplies will be provided. Sign up at https://www.signupgenius or call PEP at 215-389-4006.

June 11

Tony Danza’s Standards and Stories – At 8 p.m. at Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia, Tony Danza and his four-piece band will make their debut in Philadelphia with their show, Standards & Stories. Tickets start at $59 and are available at AXS.com.

July 22

Dom Irerra – At the Event Center at Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia at 8 p.m., South Philadelphia native Dom Irerra returns to make his comedy debut at the Event Center at Live!
