Magic Gardens to feature work by Isaac Scott

Artist Isaac Scott will share his experience of living among a decaying infrastructure of dilapidated buildings and also his observations of protests against police brutality with a new work called “When Cracks Deepen” which will be on display at Magic Gardens, 1020 South Street.

Scott’s clay works mimic the texture of broken sidewalks, worn down buildings, and found materials. His photographs are intimate black & white images of protesters during the Black Lives Matter protests in 2020. Shown together, they tell the powerful story of one man’s reflection and reinterpretation of the world around him.

“When Cracks Deepen” will be unveiled on June 10 with an opening reception from 6-9 p.m. (pay what you wish) and will run through September 4. A tour & talk will be held on June 14 from 6-8 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults/$12 for students.
