The Philadelphia Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority presented a check for $95,000 to The Legacy of Love Foundation via The Philadelphia Foundation on June 14 as part of the chapter’s 95th anniversary celebration.

This year, the Philadelphia Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority has contributed over $220,000 to various charitable organizations to support educational scholarships for young people in the city of Philadelphia and homeless women and children.

“The Philadelphia Alumnae Chapter is proud to support young people in the city of Philadelphia as they pursue their educational dreams,” said Dr. Penny Sparks Nixon. “We understand that education remains the most powerful weapon to escape poverty and is critical to success in today’s workforce. Our $95,000 donation to the Legacy of Love Foundation fulfills our mission to celebrate our 95th anniversary in service to the communities in Philadelphia.”
