River Twice to host ‘Christmas in July’ event

River Twice, located at 1601 E. Passyunk Ave., recently announced that it will be hosting a “Christmas in July” event from July 25-29.

Over the course of the early-weeklong event, River Twice will be collaborating with five Philly-based chefs for a different dinner each night. The restaurant had previously held a similar event during the winter but was forced to cancel the final three dinners due to a surge in COVID cases.

“We had such a blast during those first two dinners in December, but seeing the surge of COVID cases, the priority was to put the health and safety of our staff and guests first, so we had to cancel,” said River Twice chef and owner Randy Rucker in a press release. “It was out of our hands, but that’s in the past, and we’re now looking forward to this very exciting series featuring some very talented chefs who I have the utmost respect for.”

Each chef will cook for one night over the course of the event. The schedule includes:

  • July 25 – Dominic Piperno of Hearthside
  • July 26 – Alexandra Holt of Roxanne
  • July 27 – Chef Shola Olunloyo of Studiokitchen
  • July 28 – Eddie Konrad of Messina Social Club
  • July 29 – Sarah Conezio & Isaiah Billington of Keepwell Vinegar

Indoor and outdoor seating will be offered for all dinners starting at 5 p.m. As of right now, 50 seats will be available per night, with dinners costing $150 per person.
