Two South Philly shootings on Saturday

Man shot on 9th Street
A 34-year-old man was shot on the 2000 block of S. 9th Street early on Oct. 15.
According to police, the shooting occurred at 12:10 a.m. and the victim was shot once in the left abdomen and once in the right hip. He was transported to Jefferson Hospital and was listed in critical condition, police said.

Shooting on South Street
Police are investigating a shooting that took place on the 700 block of South Street on Oct. 15 at approximately 10:46 p.m.
According to officials, officers from the 3rd District responded to a report of gunshots and discovered a 40-year-old victim who had suffered gunshot wounds to his stomach and leg. He was transported by police to Jefferson Hospital and admitted in critical condition, police said..
According to a preliminary police investigation, several dirt bikes and ATVs were driving eastbound on South Street when a female passenger inside a dark-colored “Slingshot” three-wheeled motorcycle engaged in an altercation with another female. As a result of the altercation, the female returned to the Slingshot, where the driver, an unknown male wearing a mask and dark clothing, fired two shots, striking the victim, police said. Several bikes and ATVs were seen fleeing the area, police said. The Special Investigation Group is investigating the matter and no arrests have been made yet.
