The British Are Back! “Occupied Philadelphia” Living History Event – At the Museum of the American Revolution. Walking tours, hands-on demonstrations, spy challenges and other family-friendly activities. Festivities kick off on Nov. 5 at 10 a.m. as more than 50 costumed historical interpreters gather on the Museum’s outdoor plaza for the unfurling of the British flag and the reading of British General Howe’s proclamation declaring Philadelphia an occupied city. Tickets to the Museum can be purchased by calling 215-253-6731, at AmRevMuseum.org, or at the front desk. Kids 5 and under are always free. Tickets are valid for two consecutive days.

Philly POPS’s Salute Series – at 11 a.m. at the Museum of the American Revolution, the Philly POPS Festival Brass quintet performs patriotic songs as part of their Salute Series, which encourages recognition of service and commitment. A student color guard from the Philadelphia Military Academy will perform a ceremonial presentation of the colors, followed by a moment of recognition for those who have served and sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy today. Museum is giving free admission to veterans all weekend (Nov. 11-13).
