Meet live reindeer at the ASHM

On November 15 at 10:30 a.m., celebrate indigenous people’s month and learn about the Sami of Sweden at the American Swedish History Museum in FDR Park. For the November Toddler Time program, families will explore the Sami people, who are reindeer herders that live in Northern Sweden, Norway, and Finland. Discover Sami traditions as we read “Inger’s Promise” by Jami Parkison, explore Sami objects in the collection, play reindeer games and create Sami-inspired crafts. To learn more about the life of reindeer herders, families will meet live reindeer from the Spruce Ridge Reindeer farm. Toddler Time is free for members and $5 per non-member child. Accompanying adult is free. Pre-register https://www.americanswedish.org/events or pay at the door.
