Philly POPS’s Salute Series – at 11 a.m. at the Museum of the American Revolution, the Philly POPS Festival Brass quintet performs patriotic songs as part of their Salute Series, which encourages recognition of service and commitment. A student color guard from the Philadelphia Military Academy will perform a ceremonial presentation of the colors, followed by a moment of recognition for those who have served and sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy today. Museum is giving free admission to veterans all weekend (Nov. 11-13).

Live reindeer at the ASHM – At 10:30 a.m. at the American Swedish History Museum in FDR Park, celebrate Indigenous People’s Month and learn about the Sami of Sweden. For the November Toddler Time program, families will explore the Sami people, who are reindeer herders who live in Northern Sweden, Norway and Finland. Discover Sami traditions as we read “Inger’s Promise” by Jami Parkison, explore Sami objects in the collection, play reindeer games and create Sami-inspired crafts. To learn more about the life of reindeer herders, families will meet live reindeer from the Spruce Ridge Reindeer farm. Toddler Time is free for members and $5 per non-member child.
