Woman killed at Broad & Ellsworth; shooter in custody

A 20 year-old woman was killed by gunfire near the intersection of Broad and Ellsworth Streets in the morning on Nov. 8.

According to police, the woman was shot 10 times throughout her body at approximately 7:56 a.m. She was taken to Presbyterian Hospital by medics but was pronounced dead at 8:26 a.m., police said.

According to police a SEPTA officer discharged a firearm at the 41-year-old male offender, striking him twice in the lower extremities. He was taken to Jefferson Hospital where he was arrested and is listed in stable condition, police said.
