South Philly native named president of major company

A South Philly native has been named president of the MCS Group Inc., a national leader in eDiscovery, management services and litigation support services.

Frank Altamuro III was promoted from his role as the company’s Chief Financial Officer to president earlier this month. He will assume the responsibilities that co-founders Rosemary Gould Esposito and David J. Bean Sr. shared since MCS was founded in 1979.

“Frank’s leadership as CFO during times of uncertainty made it clear that he has the expertise and instincts that we see as integral for this position,” said Gould Esposito.

In his new role, Altamuro will set corporate strategy for MCS, while overseeing the three MCS business units for the company based at 1601 Market St. and has more than 500 employees.

Altamuro started with the company in 2017 as an accounting manager and quickly advanced to director of finance and human resources. In addition to managing day-to-day department operations, Altamuro streamlined corporate procedures and adopted new technologies that enhanced back-office speed and accuracy. In 2020, MCS promoted Altamuro to chief financial officer.

During his tenure, Altamuro oversaw the integration of company platforms with advanced HRIS systems and implemented and managed COVID-19 protocols across the corporation and, with the help of his leadership team, successfully transitioned workplace operations from in-house to remote.

“His impartial management style and innovative foresight will ensure robust business growth in the coming years,” Bean said.

Throughout the pandemic, Altamuro maintained a stabilized corporate financial position.

“My professional focus is driving corporate strategy within a culture of servant leadership,” said Altamuro. “With that mindset, I see MCS investing in advanced technologies in each business unit to provide an innovative customer experience. We will also enhance market awareness strategies and launch new programs to invest more in our people and improve the employee experience.”

The MCS Group is a certified Women’s Business Enterprise and is a nationally recognized provider of outsourced services. It has served law firms, insurance companies, corporations, government agencies and educational institutions with cutting-edge technology and a comprehensive breadth of services including eDiscovery, management services, reprographics, court reporting and record retrieval.

Altamuro, a Neumann University graduate, has been actively supportive of his alma mater. He created the Francesca Altamuro Endowed Fund, a scholarship bestowed annually to nursing students in good academic standing who model servant leadership. He also mentors students as an alumni member of Neumann’s Honors Program and was awarded a 2021 Young Alumni Achievement Award given to young alumni for outstanding professional achievements while upholding Neumann University values and its mission.
