Fiedler representative at the library – From 2-4 p.m. at the Whitman Library, a representative from Elizabeth Fiedler’s office will be there to assist with car registrations, unemployment compensation problems, birth certificate applications, income tax problems and consumer complaints.

Jazz Sanctuary – at 7:30 p.m. at Gloria Dei (Old Swedes’) Episcopal Church, 8 Christian St., Jazz Sanctuary returns to Queen Village for a free, two-hour concert. Additional information is available at http://www.thejazzsanctuary.com.

Philly Bierfest – From 2 to 5:30 p.m. at the German Society of Pennsylvania, 611 Spring Garden St., the 10th annual event, showcasing Pennsylvania’s German brewing heritage and leadership in the brewing and appreciation of German-style lager beers. Featuring German-style beers from both Pennsylvania craft brewers and breweries in Germany, live entertainment, educational opportunities and more. The event is in partnership with Philly Roller Derby and the Brewers of Pennsylvania. Tickets are $59 for general admission, $79 for VIP (one hour early access and keepsake mug). “Beer-Less” admission for designated drivers and children over 12 is $25. Beyond Wakanda – Imagining the Future with Black Comic Creators – from noon to 5 p.m. at the National Liberty Museum. Superhero media inspired by Marvel’s Black Panther, DC’s Cyborg and a vibrant scene of independent creators put forth powerful visions of futuristic heroes shaped by black identity. NLM teams up with the East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention for a day of all-ages programming highlighting glimpses of the future that bring out the hero in all of us. Free with museum admission, advanced registration encouraged.

PYO Showcase Performance – At 3 p.m. in Verizon Hall of the Kimmel Center, the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra Music Institute presents several program divisions of their nationally respected music organization at the 2023 Showcase. With individual performances by Philadelphia Youth Orchestra, Philadelphia Young Artists Orchestra, Young Musicians Debut Orchestra, Prysm Strings and Bravo Brass, the performance will include hundreds of young musicians. Tickets are $20-$30 and can be purchased at www.kimmelculturalcampus.org/.

New this year is the first Tune Up Philly Musical Scavenger Hunt, featuring an instrument petting zoo, a photo booth and our Orchestra Access Pass – a fun and engaging way for younger audiences (ages 7-12) to follow along with the concert, get to know the PYO Music Institute and explore the orchestra instruments up close. Activities begin in The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts lobby from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m.

SZA in concert – At the Wells Fargo Center, music trendsetter and icon SZA will embark on a highly anticipated arena tour this spring with support from Grammy-nominated best new artist Omar Apollo. Tickets on sale at szasos.com.

Toy Train Show – The Train Collectors Association Atlantic Division will hold its “Spring Fever” Train Show and Sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Penns Landing Caterers (Sheet Metal Workers Union Hall), 1301 S. Columbus Blvd. There will be 140 tables with vintage toy trains and repair parts for sale, test track, operating toy train layouts, kids activities and door prizes for adults and children. Admission is $5 per attendee or per family of two adults and all children 12 and under. Food is available on premises, plenty of free parking. First Among Captains Commodore John Barry lecture – At 7 p.m. at Historic Gloria Dei (Old Swedes’) Church, 916 S. Swanson St. in Queen Village, local author Tim McGrath will discuss Commodore John Barry’s daring exploits. McGrath has written two engaging books that include many of Barry’s heroic exploits on the Delaware River and around the world. Admission is $10, which includes a drink ticket for a beverage of your choice (alcoholic or non-alcoholic). This event, part of “Great Talks at Gloria Dei,” will take place inside the church sanctuary, followed by a reception in nearby Riverside Hall. For a modest donation, you can taste delicious gourmet desserts and pair them with wine, coffee or tea.

Dancing Queen at ASHM – From 7-10 p.m. at the American Swedish Historical Museum at 1500 Pattison Ave., celebrate the iconic music of ABBA at the American Swedish Historical Museum. DJ Drake will spin the throwbacks as everyone lets out their inner Dancing Queen. Highlights of the evening will include a dancing and costume contest and live performances by Miss Troy, Scarlett Masters, Elieen O’Brennan and Amerie Jameson. ‘70s attire is encouraged. Tickets are $30 members, $35 non-members and include Swedish-inspired bites. SPHS Class of ‘63 Reunion – The South Philadelphia High School Class of 1963 (January-June) will hold its 60th reunion from 1-4 p.m. at Adelphia Restaurant, 1750 Clements Bridge Road, Deptford, New Jersey. Tickets are $60 and include a buffet luncheon with a cash bar.
