Get ready for an exciting day with the FreeWalkers on Saturday, October 19, for the “Bristol Stomp” walk and tour! This free guided walk covers up to 18 miles, starting in Bristol, PA, and ending in Trenton, NJ. You’ll be exploring tons of local history along the way, with shorter distance options available too.

Event Details

The walk takes you through historic spots in Lower Bucks County and Trenton, including Revolutionary War sites, old villages, and landmarks like General Washington’s headquarters and the first Quaker meeting house. You’ll also visit places like Levittown and Morrisville, learning about their history and changes over time.

During the walk, we’ll stop for lunch at the Bristol Amish Market, where you can grab Pennsylvania Dutch treats or other foods. There are also cheesesteaks and fast food options in Morrisville for those doing the longer routes.

You can choose to walk the full 18 miles, or shorter options of 4, 6, 10, or 15 miles. The route is mostly paved, with some gravel, so it’s an easygoing, average-difficulty walk.

Event Location

Start Location: Bristol Station, at Washington and Prospect Streets, Bristol, PA. Please arrive about 10 minutes early to check in near the parking lot, south of the tracks.

End Location: Trenton Transit Center. From here, you can catch a bus or train back to Bristol or other points along the way.

There are also shorter finish points at Levittown (6 miles), Fairless Hills (10 miles), or Morrisville (15 miles), all with transit options to return.

Event Price and Conditions

This event is completely free and open to anyone who wants to join. You don’t need a ticket—just show up and check in with your name. Parking is free in Bristol, and there are lots of parking spots near Trenton Transit Center for the return trip.

Be sure to bring some water (32 to 64 ounces), snacks, and whatever else you might need depending on the weather, like sunscreen or a rain poncho.

Event Time

The walk is on Saturday, October 19, from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. It lasts about eight hours, including breaks to visit the historic sites along the way.

You can take SEPTA to Bristol from Philly or NJ Transit from Trenton. When the walk ends in Trenton, you can hop on SEPTA Regional Rail to go back.
