BOCCE LEAGUES
In last Thursday’s women’s games, Mazza Bros. defeated PFC, 12-6; Southern Auto beat City Pizza, 12-2, and Mazza, 12-4; and City Pizza took the win over PFC, 12-2. In Tuesday’s men’s games, Cacia’s Bakery defeated Rudi’s Formal Wear, 12-6, and Casa dei Pazzi, 12-8; Pine Nuts beat Casa, 12-7, and Chef’s Market, 12-9; Rudi’s took the win over Camilli Chiropractor, 12-11; and Camilli defeated Chef’s Market, 12-3. The men’s league plays Tuesdays and the women’s league plays Thursdays starting at 7:30 p.m. at Guerin Recreation Center, 16th and Jackson streets.

BEACON BASKETBALL
The Beacon community program at Bok Tech High, Eighth and Mifflin streets, is offering high-school division and 13-and-under basketball leagues. The 13-and-under games will be played at 10 a.m. and high-school games will follow at 1 p.m. Saturdays. Call Daryl, 215-868-9666, or Leonard, 267-254-3769.

GUERIN LEAGUES
Registration is being held for the basketball league for 12 and under and 14 and under at Guerin Recreation Center, 16th and Jackson streets. Adults are needed to help. Parents should register their children Monday-Friday, 3-8 p.m., or call the center, 215-685-1894, to make an appointment. Registration also is underway for the Guerin soccer league for 12 and under. The fee is $25, which includes a shirt and awards, due at signup.

PALUMBO HOCKEY
The Palumbo Recreation Center, 10th and Fitzwater streets, is holding registration for its street hockey program (no skates required) for boys and girls ages 8-11. Registration is underway, with the program starting in mid-November. The cost is $30. Games will be played Mondays around 4 p.m. Call 215-686-1783.

POINT BREEZE BASKETBALL
The Point Breeze Civic Association is seeking girls’ basketball teams 14 and under for the winter league program beginning in mid-December. PBCA also seeks coaches and boys’ teams for its 13-and-under and 14-17 winter basketball league. Call 215-755-6628.

RIZZO RINK
Rizzo Rink, Front Street and Washington Avenue, is taking registration for the in-house league for returning players and an introductory ice hockey program for new players. The cost is $115 and open to all boys and girls ages 5-12. Call 215-685-1593.

SEYAA YOUTH BASKETBALL
Registration is being accepted for the organization’s basketball league, which begins the week of Jan. 5. Divisions are coed biddy basketball for ages 4-6, boys’ basketball for ages 7-8 and 9-11, and girls’ basketball for ages 7-9 and 10-12. SEYAA is accepting registrations of players and teams for its winter Saturday basketball league. The age divisions are 13-15 and 16-19. SPECIAL OLYMPICS
Special Olympics Pennsylvania will host its 2003 Fall Festival at Villanova University Nov. 7-9. More than 1,000 athletes and nearly 350 coaches representing 35 counties will participate in the statewide competition. The event will feature three days of competition in such sports as bocce, long-distance running/walking, powerlifting, soccer and volleyball. UYA BASKETBALL
The Urban Youth Athletic Association will hold registration the next two Saturdays from 10 a.m.-noon at Marian Anderson Recreation Center, 17th and Fitzwater streets. UYA is a youth development program that utilizes sports as a vehicle to inspire young people to lead healthy, productive lives. The program is for boys and girls ages 6-16, and will include basketball fundamental clinics, intramural league and a referee-in-training program. Volunteer coaches are needed.
