BEACON BASKETBALL

The Beacon community program at Bok Tech High, Eighth and Mifflin streets, is offering high-school division and 13-and-under basketball leagues. The 13-and-under games will be played at 10 a.m. and high-school games will follow at 1 p.m. Saturdays. Call Daryl, 215-868-9666, or Leonard, 267-254-3769.

BOCCE LEAGUES

In last Thursday’s women’s games, Mazza Bros. defeated PFC, 12-9; Southern Auto beat Mazza, 12-9; and City Pizza took the win over Southern, 12-9, and PFC, 12-10. City Pizza is looking for two more players to join its women’s team. If interested, go to the center by 7:15 tonight or next Thursday. The men’s teams didn’t play Tuesday due to Veterans Day. The men’s league plays Tuesdays and the women’s league plays Thursdays starting at 7:30 p.m. at Guerin Recreation Center, 16th and Jackson streets.

EOM BIDDY BASKETBALL

Registration is being held for biddy basketball at the EOM office, Front and Moore streets, from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. The program is for ages 4-7 and the cost is $25. Games are being played Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. continuing through Dec. 13. Call 215-271-1994.

GUERIN LEAGUES

Registration is being held for the basketball league for 12 and under and 14 and under at Guerin Recreation Center, 16th and Jackson streets. Adults are needed to help. Parents should register their children Monday-Friday, 3-8 p.m., or call the center, 215-685-1894, to make an appointment. Registration also is underway for the Guerin soccer league for 12 and under. The fee is $25, which includes a shirt and awards, due at signup.

PALUMBO REC CENTER

The Palumbo Recreation Center, 10th and Fitzwater streets, is holding registration for its street hockey program (no skates required) for boys and girls ages 8-11. The cost is $30. Games will be played Mondays around 4 p.m. beginning this month. The center also has openings in its tumbling classes for ages 3-5. Classes are offered Wednesdays at 6 p.m. or Saturdays at noon. The cost is $20 per month. Signups are ongoing through this month, but please register at least one day before desired class. Class size is limited to 15. Call 215-686-1783.

PHILADELPHIA MARATHON

The Philadelphia Marathon will mark its 10th anniversary Nov. 23. The marathon will cap off a weekend of free family-oriented activities, including the Health and Fitness Expo and Verizon Family Fun Run, a non-competitive race for children. A world-class lineup of runners is expected to compete in the 26-mile extravaganza, including U.S. Olympic hopefuls. The marathon route will take runners past landmark sites such as the Philadelphia Museum of Art, City Hall, Independence Hall, the Philadelphia Zoo and Boathouse Row. PHILADELPHIA SOUL TRYOUTS

The Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League will hold tryouts Saturday at Temple University’s Geasey Field at 15th Street between Norris and Montgomery. Registration for offensive and defensive linemen, fullbacks, linebackers and kickers will begin promptly at 7 a.m.; for wide receivers, defensive backs and quarterbacks, 10 a.m. Registration fee is $50 cash. Head coach Mike Trigg and his staff will evaluate participants in a series of speed and agility testing drills, followed by a breakdown of drills by position. POINT BREEZE BASKETBALL

Rizzo Rink, Front Street and Washington Avenue, is taking registration for the in-house league for returning players and an introductory ice hockey program for new players.
